Ancient Textures

This is a collage with a light coating of gesso.  It is on an 8"x 8" cradeled panel.

I had a lot of fun figuring out how to work with the textures.

Figure of the Sea

 She is emerging from the sea. This figure was created with a reed pen and walnut ink. I like the earthy tone of the walnut ink contrasting with the aqua marine. 

Angelic Figure

This is a contemporary figurative painting.

 I drew the ink figure on prepared paper during an open sketch class.

 To prepare the paper I painted acrylics on a piece of glass

 and then printed it onto mixed media paper.

Reaching For Spring

This is a mixed media collage. The text is from a Russian cat book. 

The Queen Anne's Lace is from my yard.

Sunflowers And Pears

Assorted sunflowers and pears is an 8" x 8" oil painting.  It is a happy painting.
